Cable Fault Locators

SEV Electrical offers Cable Fault Locator. The instrument is used to pinpoint cable faults and can be also used as cable route tracer. The instrument is designed for maximum sensitivity. This unit converts the seismic disturbances generated at a fault point because of high energy dissipated by a surge generator/thumper. The sensor is electrically screened to avoid the effect of external noise. Sensor has an extension handle to facilitate moving and placing it along the cable route. The sensor base is designed for a maximum sensitivity using a tripod arrangement. Acoustic and magnetic amplifiers are housed in separate screened compartments. The amplifier unit have separate gain control and display meter to indicate the strength of the input signal. High impedance, Philips-make headphones with excellent LF response is used. Features: the instrument has the facility to mute the acoustic. It is required when vehicles/ people passing by, disturbs the operator. The instrument is battery-operated having separate batteries both of display of "magnetic" and acoustic" VU-meter deflection. The batteries are operational only when plug for magnetic/acoustic is engaged in a well-designed female socket in-built, in the receiver.
