Tension Pins (Spring Dowel Pins)

Vinod Trading Co offers a range of Tension Pins (Spring Dowel Pins). These are hollow, longitudinally slotted cylinders manufactured from highly elastic special spring steel as per DIN-1481. After forming they are hardened and tempered to give maximum strength. The pin is larger, by a predetermined amount than the bore of the hole into which it is to be pressed. Chamfer at one or both ends of the pin facilitate insertion. Only a drilled hole to normal production tolerance is required. Costly reaming, tapping and milling operations are eliminated when using tension pins. Tension pins save, time cost and weight. Tension pins reduce weight because they are hollow. Tension pins are recommended for large, steady or variable shear loads and medium shock loads. The company has various sizes readily available. When ordering, it is important to specify nominal dia and length of the pins.
