Gas Springs

Quiri of France, established 130 years ago, specialise in the design and manufacture of components that use high-pressure fluids. The company developed gas springs with special features that are covered under international patents. Main features include: single-piece body of the gas spring (unwelded); single-piece piston-rod; double lip-seal system inside the cylinder to prevent the escape of nitrogen gas held under a high pressure of up to 150 bar – with 2 protections instead of one; oil-filled chamber inside the cylinder in the area between the 2 lip-seals to provide life-long lubrication; guide-bush in bronze (oil-soaked) to prevent stick-slip between the chrome-plated piston rod and the guide bush; and small-dia piping for connection between the cylinders/manifold to eliminate the need for excessive machining of the die. Quiri gas springs have been approved by most of the reputed international manufacturers of automobiles, especially those from Japan; Germany, France, and USA. The warranty from Quiri covers its gas springs for 2 years or 2 million cycles of operation. These are used mainly in dies and press-tools for sheet-metal operation where uniformity of pressure is required within the die, without having the need for doing pre-loading. The company also offers hydraulic ejectors for moulds. Quiri gas springs are supplied in Indian rupees by their authorised distributors.
