Garter Spring

Accurate Springs offers Garter Springs. Applications are in oil seals, motor drive belts and conveyers systems. Garter springs can be supplied as lengths, or as assembled into rings. These are extension springs with the ends fastened together to form a ring. They are primarily used to maintain controlled pressure of a radial lip seal on a shaft. Other uses include small motor belts and electrical connectors. They feature high tension to provide constant load and a special tapered end to assure a strong connection and a continuous near uniform body diameter. All types of material can be used including spring steel wires, stainless steel (SS 304, 316), phosphor bronze wires and so on.
