Conveyor Belt Fasteners

Almex International in conjunction with its Canadian headquarters and Conveyor Accessories Inc, U.S.A., offers Riv-Nail conveyor belt fasteners for mechanical splicing of conveyor belts. The Riv-Nail rivet hinged fastener is manufactured with special tempered steel to form the beveled ends and yield a smooth low profile when installed. The design pattern composed of 3-5 Riv Nails allows for the fasteners to be clinched for maximum pull out resistance as the pilot nails do not cut the fabric, but divide and allow the rivets to slide between fill and warp yarns. The fastener is a compression fastener and as such does not rely entirely on the belt fabric for resistance to fastener pull out. The compression of the hinged plate fastener is determined by the strength of the rivet set or clasp, which is derived in great measure by the `setting tool'. ln this instance, it is the nail for the rivet that is the `setting tool'.
