Conical Springs

Hi Tech Springs manufactures conical springs and volute springs. The capacity and the stress turn is in very large degree upon the spacing of the coils that, it is difficult to find formula for volute and conical springs. The matter is more complicated by the thinning of the material at each end of the spring, especially in volutes, in order to achieve an approximation to a spiral in plan to give a reasonably circular base and a circular hole. The true volute is made from flat section steel.
