Universal Joints

Romada Engineering Works offers a complete range of universal joints. The universal joint fills the need for a compact joint combining a high load-carrying capacity with constant reliability over long periods of service. Trouble-free service is assured by a simple design coupled with high-grade materials and modern manufacturing methods. Continuous development in terms of engineering technology has substantially improved the performance loading of these joints. Hooke's Type HD universal joint is manufactured form high-quality alloy steels and consists principally of two fork members embracing a center trunnion assembly. Continuous development of this series now permits much greater loads to be transmitted than was hither to possible. In addition, these joints can be used where tension or compression loads occur thus eliminating, in some case, the need for telescoping sleeves. The joints are suitable for applications where torque conditions are more severe than those requiring the ball types. Although the joints are designed to operate at a maximum working angle of 45?, it is recommended that for power transmissions a working angle of 25? should not be exceeded.
