Rotary Unions

Rotary Unions

Duff Norton, USA, manufactures rotary union rotating joints designed to provide a rotating seal between a stationary fluid supply and a revolving roll or drum. These joints are available in sizes from 1/8" to 5" nominal pipe sizes, in single and dual flow designs. The quality construction and broad performance characteristics of Duff Norton joints make them ideal for transmitting liquids and non-toxic industrial gases to and from a wide range of rotating machinery in most industrial applications. The unique design of 9000 series rotary union rotating joints permits them to be used to introduce heating or cooling agent into rolls or cylinders in various types of machinery. Models are available to handle steam, water, heat transfer oils, proprietary thermal fluids and non-toxic industrial gases in applications requiring sealing pressures to 250 PSI, speeds to 750 RPM and temperatures to 375?F. The unique balanced primary seal in the 4000 series rotary joints permits extended seal life and low torque in a corrosion resistant rotary seal. Models are available to handle water, oil and air in applications requiring pressures up to 1000 PSI, speeds to 5000 RPM and temperatures to 200?F. Duff Norton 8000 series rotating joints are available in models that can handle steam and hot water requiring sealing pressures to 175 PSI, temperatures to 450?F and speeds to 600 RPM. This series is preferred for continuous service on pulp and paper converting, textile, rubber, and plastic production machinery. These joints are particularly desirable for transmitting liquids and non-toxic gases to and from drums, extruders, slashers, press rolls, and rubber mills. The 1000 series rotary union rotating joints are specifically engineered to meet the rigorous requirements of the paper industry. Although uniquely designed internally, these 2-rod supported steam joints are interchangeable with other Z-rod supported steam joints without any changes in piping, rod spacing or port locations. Basic and balanced models are available to meet specific requirements. These rotating joints require sealing pressures to 175 PSI, temperatures to 377?F and speeds to 500 RPM. The new 7700 series low water type rotary unions include a selection of single and dual flow models in 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 3/4" and 1" sizes specifically engineered for printing industry applications. The units provide efficient introduction of chilled water into machinery rolls or cylinders with sealing requirements up to 150 PSI, speeds to 3,500 RPM and temperatures to 200?F. The unique design of the 2000 series flanged type rotary joints permits them to be used to introduce heating or cooling agents into rolls or cylinders in various types of machinery. Models are available to handle water, oil and other fluids in applications requiring sealing pressures to 150 PSI, speeds to 500 RPM and temperatures to 550?F when specified.
