Fabric expansion bellows can be used for temperature applications up to 1000°C and ±2000 mm w/c. They can be of single layer or multi layer. Both the edges of composite belts are stapled and fixed with the duct or extended part of the duct. They can be clamped or bolted. PTFE fibreglass composite products are recommended for corrosive atmosphere. Fibreglass fabrics reinforced with stainless steel wires are capable of withstanding higher pressures. These fabrics can also be coated with silicone rubber to give added protection. Glass fabrics, along with glass or ceramic felts give desired temperature drop to the outer most layer. Silica fabrics, glass fabrics, stainless steel wire reinforced glass fabrics and wire mesh are used to make base layers. Layers of ceramic/glass wool are encased in glass fabric/wire mesh to prevent the entry of laden ash, lime stone dust, etc. They take off the extra pressure and heat, thus extending the service life of fabric expansion joints.
