Connectors

Souriau offers Connectors. These are made of polyamide reinforced with fibreglass, aimed at a wide range of "harsh environment" industrial applications. The connectors are fitted with seals to provide sealing in accordance with IP68 and IP69K standards, and can withstand water immersion at a depth of 10 meters and high-pressure cleaning at 140 bars. The connector"s seal is dynamic, i.e., it is maintained even in the event of the cable being subjected to a pulling or bending motion. The dynamic seal is assured by a locking principle that maintains constant pressure on the connector"s sealing surfaces. These are used at temperatures ranging from -40°C to +105°C. The material withstands over 1,000 hours of salt spray and is resistant to UV radiation. The connector"s fire resistance is classified as UL 94-V0 under the UL reference standard, meaning that the product does not support combustion and is self-extinguishing. Furthermore, if the product is exposed to a flame, the smoke given off has a very low level of toxicity; the connector is thus suitable for use in mass transport equipment such as railway systems. Typical applications: portable instrumentation, robotics, site vehicles and agricultural machines, water treatment plants, underwater applications (swimming pools, fountains) or marine applications, railways, stage lighting and electronics, and any other outdoor applications requiring connections with high levels of reliability. The product"s rated voltage is 500 V with configurations that meet the German VDE electrical safety requirements.
