Braided Flexible Connectors

Torsion Industries offers Braided Flexible Connectors, which are manufactured from thin copper braided tapes with a single wire diameter of 0.07/0.20 mm bare, tin or silver coated. These standard flexibles are non insulated but available with insulation tubes on request. The contact areas are assembled with solderless pressed copper connectors bare and on request tin or silver coated. Standard manufactured connectors have a width of 20-240 mm. Possible cross-sections are 25-6.000 sq.mm or above. These connectors are custom manufactured as per the user industry’s bus sizes, current rating and fitment. The advantage of the solderless pressing process is that only material of same analysis and same conductivity is being connected which is not the case if tin or welding which are additionally used. The connectors are typically used in jointing electrical equipment and electrical distribution systems like control panels, bus ducts, electrical plug in bus ways, transformers, isolators and switchgears, oil and vacuum circuit breakers, generators and various applications in electrical power generation, transmission and distribution systems. These braided flexible connectors prevent damage to equipment due to vibrations. They can be customised to suit equipment having different bus terminals. They absorb vibrations caused by switchgear operations and movements inside machines and compensate for misalignments and thermal expansion. They prevent damages due to earthquakes.
