Impulse Generators, V Series

KVTEK Power Systems offers V Series Impulse Generators that can be used to generate impulse voltages simulating lightning strokes and switching surges. The stage voltage is 200 kV/stage and the stage energy is 10 kJ or 20 kJ or 30 kJ. Max charging voltage is 6000 kV. The basic system of both types of impulse generators, viz., W series and V series can be upgraded in various ways for special tests and for greater ease of operation. A number of additional circuits and components allow optimising the impulse test system for tests on different kind of high voltage test objects. The company manufactures a range of impulse test sets. Impulse voltage test systems are used to generate impulse voltages simulating lightning strokes and switching surges. Main applications include impulse voltage tests on HV apparatus like power transformers, instrument transformers, switchgears, circuit breakers, HV cables, etc., according to IEC, ANSI/IEEE as well as other national standards. Major components required for conducting the impulse voltage test systems are as below: impulse generators; HV DC charging supply; impulse dividers; impulse shunts; multiple chopping gaps; impulse control systems; and impulse analysing systems.
