Four-C-Tron offers SPI-Sun Simulator (flasher) equipment, which is critical in both module production lines and testing/certification laboratories. In a production setting, modules must pass an appropriate series of sun simulation tests to be certified and shipped. Spire's single long pulse (SLP) SPI-sun simulator is the most stable and accurate simulator in the industry. It has become the industry standard for test agencies and research labs worldwide, including NREL, UL, TUV, ISPRA, FSEC, CSA, KIER and Bodycote. Offering class AAA performance, Spire's SLP SPI-sun simulators provide short- and long-term stability over the life of the tool for spectral, spatial and temporal uniformity. The systems feature a proprietary filtered light source that closely matches the solar spectrum while avoiding excessive solar cell heating caused by continuous sources. Additionally, they provide a broad range of user selectable irradiance levels to measure performance in varying light conditions. Spire's simulators can test crystalline or thin film modules and can be integrated into module production lines at any level of automation. In a fully-automated production line, the automation option provides consistent module testing and offers optional loading and unloading of modules. In a manual line, the controls can be customized and operated as desired.
