Solar Photovoltaic Cells

Solar photovoltaic systems harness the energy of the sun to produce power. These systems are gaining relevance especially in areas where it is not viable to connect expensive power grids. Being non-polluting and requiring low maintenance, they are looked upon as more reliable than the conventional power lines. USL has made significant developments in this field in the last decade. Solar photovoltaic cells: the company manufacturers high performance low-cost silicon solar cells that are designed for terrestrial applications. These solar cells have screen-printed silver front side and screen-printed silver-aluminium back side for better soldering. Textured front surface makes it possible to collect maximum sunlight and hence improved performance. These are available in various sizes: M4 –100 mm; M4 –100 mm (USC M100R); M5 –125 mm; and M6 –156 mm. The company, established in the year 1984, manufactures solar PV cells, modules and module based systems with a capacity to produce 3 MW cells and 5 MW modules.
