Power Conserver

It is proven that with the optimum power for various types of load, there is not only a reduction in the consumption of power, but also reduction in the failure rates of motors and improvement in the power factor and efficiency. Another very important area of saving and conservation in electricity consumption is the reduction in the power consumed by lighting load (especially gas discharge lamps like fluorescent lamps, mercury vapour, sodium vapour, etc). There is a reduction of about 20% to 35% when the power is maintained at an optimum level. The conserver optimises consumption of electrical energy in gas discharge lamps. The luminous efficiency of a gas discharge lamp depends on the operating electrical conditions like discharge current and voltage, in relation to the vapour pressure. The conserver achieves saving by introducing an impedance in series so as to supply optimum power and magnetizing current to the discharge lamps.
