Bourevestnik’s general purpose X-ray diffractometer product range, which includes models DRON-7 and DRON-8, is able to solve a wide range of powder diffraction tasks. Independent control of detector and sample rotation enables to use the instrument for some analysis of single crystals. X-ray diffraction is most widely used for the identification of unknown crystalline materials (e.g., minerals, inorganic compounds).

Methods of X-ray diffraction analysis implemented in diffractometers are as follows:

DRON-7 X-ray diffractometer is capable of solving a wide variety of tasks for powder diffraction analysis. DRON-7 diffractometer provides fully safe operation and meets the local radiation safety standards. The DRON-7 diffractometer can be operated in Bragg-Brentano, Debye-Sherrer, and parallel-beam modes. It features: horizontal two-circle 2?-? goniometer; high reliability and user-friendly operation; flexible design and wide range of options; and high automation for setting and measurements.

DRON-8 X-ray diffractometer with vertical ?-? goniometer and fixed sample plane enables to perform X-ray diffraction analysis of phase composition, structural state and orientation of wide range of crystalline objects with different shape and size. DRON-8 diffractometer provides fully safe operation and meets the local radiation safety standards. The DRON-8 diffractometer can be operated in Bragg-Brentan, Debye-Sherrer, and parallel-beam modes. It features: automated alignment of sample plane; high-precision wide-angle vertical ?-? goniometer with changeable radius; implementation of various X-ray diffraction techniques; flexible design and wide range of options; variety of X-ray optical schemes; and remote control of all devices and systems.

DRON-8 has high technical and operational characteristics as compared with DRON-7. Goniometer has a changeable radius (180-250 mm), angle position reproducibility is around 0.001 deg., automatic adjustment of the sample plane is provided; there are 6 algorithms for independent and synchronous moving of X-ray tube and detector that covers all well-known methods of XRD analysis.
