Viscometer

Cole-Parmer India offers a Viscometer, Model Haake Viscotester 550, for determination of the flow behaviour of fluids. This is a viscometer that works on the principle of absolute measurements. It is a rotational viscometer that measures precisely, quickly and simply the viscosity and flow behaviour of liquid and semisolid test materials. All results like viscosity, shear stress, shear rate, yield point and operating temperature are displayed in the digital LED display. The Viscotester 550 does not mind if a sample is thin like oil, paint or ceramic slurry or as pasty as cream or a PVC plastisol. One unit covers the whole application range from very thin to very thick. It gives absolute viscosity data, accurate temperature control and thixotropy for complete rheological assessments of the sample. It also can work with different geometries such as plate and plate, cone and plate type and immersion type; thus providing the user a wide array of geometries suitable for various complex measurements. Ten pre-programmed routines let the user automatically characterise non-Newtonian fluids, determine yield points, and calculate other complex flow characteristics of the samples. An RS-232 computer connection is standard and the software is optional. It performs the following steps: automatically characterize non-Newtonian fluids; and built-in displays show all relevant results. The Viscotester 550 can be controlled with the unique 21CFR compliant Rheowin Software. This helps users in both research and quality control to comply with the stringent requirements of the regulated industry. It provides a user management system, file integrity, audit trail and electronic signatures to ensure that the integrity of electronic records are always maintained.
