The revenue-accurate ION 8300 from Power Measurement is the third meter to achieve CAISO (California Independent System Operator) approval, alongside the company"s ION 8400 and ION 8500 revenue meters. Available in both socket-mount and switchboard styles, the three ION 8000-series products represent a new class of billing meter, optimised for grid and ISO applications across an increasingly competitive marketplace. Each of the Internet-ready meters can monitor the quantity and reliability of power at critical inter-tie points across the grid, while enabling energy suppliers to offer their customers a unique and cost-effective value-added service. Web-ready features such as MeterM@il e-mail messaging and WebMeter web-browser support provide a means for the utility to help its customers reduce energy costs, diagnose operational problems, and verify power quality throughout their facilities. And because the information comes directly from the meter, the consumer can get the latest information in real-time, and respond immediately to changing conditions.
