Residual Stress Analysis

Residual Stress Analysis

Engineering Solutions offers analysers for non-destructive measurement of residual stresses in metallic and ceramic components. A portable diffractometer allows measurements to be taken within 5 to 10 minutes on virtually any size of component. It is particularly suitable for quality control, manufacturing, materials research and development. This mobile analyser can be used in lab or on shop floor or in the field. Residual stresses in seamless/welded tubes, pipes, bearing races, rollers, balls, forging, gears, shafts, gauges, cutting tools, castings, heat treated components, welded sections, case hardened components, carburized components, machined parts, drawn or extruded products made up of steels, cast iron, aluminium alloys, copper alloys, and stainless steel can be analysed for surface and subsurface residual stresses and their patterns. The measurement of residual stresses is useful for reducing cracking and distortion problems, for optimisation of the existing processes. Retained austenite measurement is also possible.
