NCS, Incremental Optical Glass Scale for CNC Applications

Givi Misure, a company known as single source for precision measurements, has introduced an incremental optical scale for CNC applications. These scales are named as NCS scales and are based on glass measuring support. Being the glass scale the linear thermal expansion coefficient lambda is 0.00000008 per°C. The accuracy of the scale is ±3 microns over 1 metre length. The reference indexes can be provided with coded distances or at constant distance of 40 mm or it can be selectable. The output is in the form of 1 V peak to peak sinusoidal or it can be TTL output. The resolutions available are from 0.1 microns to 5 microns. Along with above characteristics the scales are designed for high stability of signals against high speed of operations, strong accelerations and vibrations. The power supply is protected against reversal of polarity and short circuit.
