The Los Angeles Abrasion-Testing Machine is used for determining the resistance to wear, of small sized aggregates and crushed rocks. It consists of a hollow cylinder, which is mounted on a sturdy frame having ball bearings. Rotational speed of the drum is 30-33 rpm, which is powered by an electric motor supply with 12 abrasive charges of 48 mm.
