Laser Displacement Sensor Meter

Keyence's Laser Displacement System offers non-contact, fast and accurate thickness measurement of a hard, soft or moving object in the production line. The other typical applications are measurement of displacement, eccentricity, surface rurrout, positioning a robot arm, coating thickness, checking the presence or absence, and surface finish. These instruments are used in automobile, rubber/plastic, packaging, and steel industries, automation applications, and labs for calibration purpose. Laser displacement system works on the reflective principle. The spot diameter of the laser beam with reduced scatter ensures precision measurements on virtually any type of surface. The resolution of laser displacement system varies from 0.01 to 50 microns with compact controller, which is suited for a variety of applications. The analogue output can be fed back to control other operations and alarm output can be used as an indication of tolerance crossing. Some models have RS-232C interface for remote operation through personal computers and digital display. The applications of the displacement sensors/meters are limited only on user's creativity. Contact type dial gauges and LVDTs are being replaced by noncontact displacement sensors.
