Insulation Testers

Sharmasons Sakova Instruments is a leading manufacturer of electrical testing equipments for the electric power utilities. Sakova Insulation Testers are used for direct reading of insulation resistance of electrical rotating machines, stationary apparatus, switchgear, control equipments, insulators, cables, electrical components and other devices. These are manufactured in conformity with the IS. Outstanding features: the generator has a rotary magnet and stationary armature; the machined rotary magnet has an excellent dynamic balance which adds to the life of the bearings; the stationary armature has the advantage that is not subjected to any centrifugal or centripetal forces and has the added advantage of easy replacement in case of burnout, etc; the cumbersome brush commutator has been substituted by high voltage rectifier diodes in bridge circuit which eliminate the sparking and the wearing out problems; output voltage is constant; cross coil (ratio meter type) indicator is pivoted on spring loaded jewels to with stand mechanical shocks; the readings are not affected by changes in speed of rotation and also due the slight demagnetisation due to “aging” of permanent magnets used in generator and the ohm meter, because of the compensation by the cross-coil system; the instrument gives direct and instant readings and does not require any calibration before test; and it is provided with an infinity adjuster and anti-parallax mirror for better reading accuracy. Specifications: measuring voltage – 500 V to 5000 V (single or multi ranges); insulation ranges – up to 50,000 megaohms (single or multi ranges); scale – logarithmic scale approx 90 mm long; and accuracy – as per IS 2992-1980/11994:86.
