Gas Permeability Testers

Lyssy AG, Switzerland, with experience of over thirty years and over five hundred installations in the field of permeability testing, now offers latest microprocessor based fully automatic and semi-automatic gas permeability testers. Lyssy's tester is suitable for the determination of the permeability of all permanent gases (with or without vapours, interfering gases and moist atmosphere) through packaging films, foils, three-dimensional packages and containers. The containers can be measured in filled state with their natural content. Products with outer barrier layers such as protected cheese, complete cigarette packs, wrapped fresh and preserved food products can be tested under realistic conditions. With variations in the outer atmosphere, degradation processes such as fermentation can be studied. Fully automatic and semi-automatic models are available to suit the application and budget. Fully automatic models are working on-line with the gas chromatograph system for the final analysis. Semi-automatic models are working on the pressure difference principle and the permeability can be checked by plotting it on the chart recorder. Some of the other typical applications are: tests of bottles and sealing capsules for carbonated drinks, test of seals, test of packed tobacco products, test of sealing of electronic components, test of photographic containers, and test of dry cells.
