Extensometer, High Elongation Type

R&D Electronics offers a high elongation extensometer. It is a self contained accessory which, when connected to the tensile testing machine, allows the unit to measure the elongation of extensible materials with very high accuracy. The elongation is followed by the relative movement of the pair of clamps and electronically recorded. The extensometer is fastened to the straining frame of the testing machine with location pins on the base and a single thumbscrew at the top. Fitting the extensometer requires access to the rear of the straining frame. The correct and proper procedure has to be followed. Special features: as the guide rod and other parts are made of stainless steel, there is absolutely no chance of rusting; the carriage belt being subjected to very less friction or pull, there is nearly no chance of them breaking; due to use of thumb nut and adjusting screws, the specimen can be clamped securely, resulting in very high accuracy and no slippage; for gauge length rod kit, available metric values are 10, 20, 25 and 50 mm, and imperial values are 1/2, 3/4, 1 and 2 inch.
