Direct-reading Spectroscope

Low priced and simple, direct reading spectroscopes are designed and supplied by Spectrex, USA. These instruments provide rapid precise qualitative analysis of all the major elements, using a unique film comparison technique. Liquids as well as solids can be analysed. Standard spectrogram of the elements is recorded on special transparent mylar films, built into the instrument. Continuous spectra generated colours illuminate these. The lines of the standard and those of the corresponding elements in the sample may be compared and matched side by side to give proof positive identification. The comparison of the observed pattern with its master film makes the identification complete. This spectroscope has wide applications for elemental analysis in mineralogy, mining, field exploration, oceanography, inorganic chemical analysis, backup for atomic absorption, teaching institutions, crime detection, etc.
