Diesel Smoke Meter

Neptune diesel smoke meter is a high quality microprocessor based instrument that combines optical precision with a robust design to give long and trouble-free service. The equipment allows two different measurement methods: dynamometer test-continuous measurement and free acceleration test-average over 6 to 8 samples. The measuring units are selectable, ie, percentage or K value. When the machine is switched on, the internal microprocessor automatically carries out a self check and then zeroes itself using clean air (auto-zero check). This exercise is carried out considering the light source, temperature and pressure inside the test chamber. The measurement method is based on the absorption of visible light on a sensor which is inside the sampling chamber. The equipment is mounted on a free-moving trolley for easy mobility and incorporates an in-built printer for storing the test result. One of the most outstanding features of this equipment is its ability to operate on 220 V AC or a 12 V vehicle battery. The meter meets all requirements specified by the central Motor Vehicles Act and is suitable for use at service stations and automobile workshops for pollution checking.
