Dead Weight Tester

Dead weight testers are a piston-cylinder type measuring device are designed for calibration of pressure instruments. As primary standards, they are the most accurate instruments for the calibration of electronic or mechanical pressure measuring instruments. These testers work in accordance with the basic principle that P= F/A, where the pressure (P) acts on a known area of a sealed piston (A), generating a force (F). The force of this piston is then compared with the force applied by calibrated weights. The pistons are partly made of special steel (used for its small temperature coefficient), and the cylinders must fit together with a clearance of no more than a couple of microns in order to create a minimum friction thus limiting the measuring error. The piston is then rotated during measurements to further minimise friction. Palfvth Instrumentation Technologies offers a dead weight tester, single piston, Model PDCAL-700NSW. Table top machines are available for a different working ranges of 6, 10, 20, 60, 100, 200, 400, 700, 1000 and 1200 kg. Standard accuracy provided is 0.2, 0.25%, 0.1% and 0.05%, with single or dual piston type. Options include construction in ?complete stainless steel?, ?complete colour coated mild steel? and with ?wetted parts in stainless steel and other pars in mild steel colour coated?. Soft rotating handle provided to the machine helps an easy calibration. High pressure models are provided by a priming pump for easy generation of pressure. The machines are designed with a base plate and four mounting holes, four level adjusting screws, a reservoir tank (for pouring the liquids) with a lock needle, two instrument mounting ports (one for piston the assembly and weight, one for instrument which is to be calibrated), cylinder and a handle (there will be a priming pump and two valves provided on instrument mounting ports ? only for the high pressure machine). Machines are supplied along with a tool kit, which includes all standard adapters, seals, washers and pointer puller. These testers are ?second to none? in performance and aesthetic look.
