Cross Hatch Testers

Techno Instruments offers Cross Hatch Tester. This is widely used to access adhesion into the coating materials like paint, powder coating, etc. This test method defines pattern of cross cuts at right angles into the coating materials. "CI" cross hatch tester is single cutting block as per international standards with 1 mm or 2 mm spaces between the cutting edges. The cutting block consists of hardened steel cylinder grounded to a high precision so that 6 or 11 cutting edges are formed between outer edges. The block has 4 cutting faces and can be assembled in 4 ways, if one cutting face becomes blunt, next face can be quickly selected. A lightweight compact handle is fitted to have a firm hold on cutter. The tester is in accordance with standards BS:3900; E-6, ASTM D-3359, DIN-53151, and ISO 2409. The body is made of die-cast aluminium; overall length - 125 mm approx; width - 26 mm approx. Cutter block - hardened steel four cutting faces: width - 18 mm approx; diameter - 30 mm approx; weight including body - 210 gm approx. Available models: CI-1 with 1 mm spacing - 11 cutting blades for coating up to 50 microns; CI-2 with 2 mm spacing - 6 cutting blades for coating above 50 microns. Supplied in a leather carrying case with one soft brush, adhesive tape, and operation manual.
