Column Gauge Combines Digital Performance With Analogue Ease Of Use

The Series 433 column gauge is said to combine the performance of a full-featured digital gauging amplifier with the ergonomic ease of use of a vertical analogue display.Operators can see at a glance if parts are over, under, or within tolerance, and can easily program the microprocessor-based system for a variety of input and output tasks, including dynamic measurements and feedback loops. Using transducer modules, the Series 433 column gauge accepts inputs from a range of full bridge and half bridge gauging transducers or air gauging equipment. Up to four inputs are possible (eight with an optional signal mixing bus), and the system can process two sets of measurements alternately. Programming is performed with an on-board keypad, or via a PC or remote programming links. The vertical orientation of the 101-element LED display promotes speed and accuracy of operation through visual ergonomics. The green/ yellow/red display changes colour as measurements approach or exceed tolerance limits, while tolerance flags assist the user in visualizing measurement trends. The tall, narrow display layout promotes side-by-side mounting of multiple Series 433 gauges, helping operators reliably scan measurements from several simultaneous processes. An eight-digit alphanumeric digital display further simplifies data gathering and programming functions. Both analogue and digital output enables the Series 433 column gauge to interface directly with alarms, signal lamps, and actuators, for any desired degree of manual or automated feedback to tne manufacturing process. An RS-232-C port permits interfacing with PCs, computer printers, and data collectors. The Series 433 column gauge performs static and dynamic measurements, with programmable readout in units of millimetres, inches, grams, or degrees. Measurement ranges are user-programmable from ?0.00025"to ?0.2"(?0.005 mm to ?5 mm), with digital resolution to 5 microinches or 0.1 micrometer. The gauge can automatically calculate minimum, maximum, mean, median, and TIR values.
