Bod trak apparatus

Hach"s BOD Trak apparatus is a dedicated microprocessor controlled instrument for the direct measurement of Biochemical Oxygen Demand in wastewater samples without complicated dilutions or remote control devices makes it easy for trained or untrained analyst. The instrument is equipped with six sample channels and an in-built electromagnetic stirrer to ensure constant stirring during entire test period. BOD Trak apparatus has a BOD range from 0 to 700 mg/l (with out dilution) and test duration can be set for 5, 7 or 10 days. Unlike, a mercury-filled manometer, the BODTrak apparatus uses highly receptive, electronic pressure sensors to detect small changes in oxygen uptake. Six sample bottles are connected to the instrument"s pressure sensors, which continuously monitor air pressure throughout the test. Bacteria in the sample use oxygen to oxidize organic matter, which leads to the consumption of dissolved oxygen. The consumed oxygen is replenished from air in the closed sample bottle resulting in a drop in air pressure. Pressure changes are then converted directly to mg/L BOD. CO2 produced by oxidation of organic matter is removed from the sample bottle by placing a seal cup containing LiOH crystals inside the bottle. Large graphical liquid crystal display allows user to check BOD value at any give time during the test. This BOD track feature allows user to change the samples or take corrective actions quickly in case of high BOD levels, any effects like nitrification problems etc without waiting for completion of total test period. Built-in non-volatile memory allows to store results for every fifteen minutes during entire test period and the RS 232 interface will connect BOD Trak to a computer through HachLink software to download the stored results after the testing is completed. Instrument offers an accuracy of ?5% on BOD standards thus ensuring accurate BOD testing for samples.
