Chennai-based Mel Systems And Services Ltd manufactures boardwizard testers which are advanced board diagnostic and repair equipment designed to meet the needs of PCB repair and maintenance industry. The Boardwizard testers use a variety of test methodologies and diagnostic tools that can be effectively used to trouble-shoot a wide variety of PCBs. The product is driven by an external IBM compatible PC on which the test software runs. These testers have provision for connecting external DC power supply and self-test and diagnostics software to check system integrity. Number of channels is 48 and expandable up to 96, and there are eight programmable guards expandable up to 16. The range of voltage for drive/sense level is 12 to +12 V and that of RCV measurement is 10 ohms to 300 k ohms. The product has provision for routing external power through tester for software control application. Testing of open collector devices is done using automatic pull-up, and language free library development is achieved by interactive vector programming interface. These testers with clip on testing with auto locate feature identifies functional equivalents of unknown digital devices.
