Anemometer

ACD Machine Control offers Anemometer. These sophisticated instruments are designed with totally indigenous technical know-how and components for measurement of rate of flow of Air / wind.

There are two types of instruments offered.

Portable:
Most of the instruments available in market for this application are made of plastic. These are efficient under laboratory conditions, often give away for industrial applications, braking the blades / shafts. The rotating vane air velocity sensor is totally made of metal parts and can stand to rigorous industrial conditions. It consists of a chemically etched stainless steel turbine, fitted on a brass shaft with stainless steel pins, which is pivoted on re-enforced jewel bearings, making it extremely sensitive to minute changes in the airflow. All other parts are made up of aluminium. Optional facility for air temperature measurement can be incorporated in the same instrument.

Meteorological Instruments:
The wind velocity sensors are mounted on the top of buildings, cranes etc. The portable sensors cannot be used for this application, as these are highly directional and will give correct reading only when held at right angle to the wind direction. The wind velocity sensors (three cup sensors) are omni directional, as it comprises of three cups, at 120° to each other attached by arms to a central boss. They drive a vertical spindle at a rotary speed proportional to the air velocity so that they give same output to wind flowing in any direction. Aluminium and stainless steel are used thorough out this sensor to ensure freedom from corrosion and long working life. A conical shield protects the spindle and bearing from the rain. An electro magnetic transducer connected to the vertical shaft gives pulses proportional to the number of rotations of the vertical shaft.

In Model CAI, these are integrated with respect to time, to read the wind speed directly. In Model CAI-DIR, wind direction reading is also provided along with wind speed. The wind farm sites are pre selected on the basis of a wind atlas. The collection of site-specific data for wind speed and direction is crucial for determining the right site. The Wind Data Logger, VDL 09 has been designed to cater for the need. The wind velocity & direction data is monitored continuously and stores with time and date. Logger has capacity to store 2000 readings Export facility can store the data in excel sheet. The software provided with the logger extracts data from the instrument and data information can be plotted in the form of line graph.Model WMSI is installed on tower cranes; instantaneous value is compared with two-limit settings alarm and trip and gives visual indication as well as relay output change over when the instantaneous value exceeds the set limit.
