Mumbai-based Electronic Enterprises offers Alphameters that work based on the principle of electro-magnetism. The electromagnetic probe when brought near the magnetic base and steel, magnetic field is set up in the base. The field strength is sensed and is displayed in terms of microns. This instrument is suitable for thickness measurement of paint, varnish, lacquer, Teflon, plastic, rubber, zinc, tin, cadmium, lead or any other non-magnetic coating on steel. Single point probe for flat surfaces is supplied.
