Absolute Magnetic Linear Measuring System

Siko introduces the absolute magnetic linear measuring system ML-A which is based on an incremental measuring method. The measurements are performed by non-contact sensing of positions. Even the movements during power loss are captured. When power is switched on again, the machine does not need to be recalibrated. This is made possible by special sensors which capture the absolute length information from a magnetic strip. In a translation module fitted with parallel, Interbus-S and CAN bus interfaces, the length information is converted into serial or parallel data. If an absolute display unit is used the values measured can be displayed both directly on the machine or via an RS232/485 interface connected with a master control.
