Tempsens Instruments (I) Pvt Ltd, an ISO 9001: 2008 company, offers a wide range of Thermocouples and RTDs that are reliable, accurate and fast responding. These thermocouples are available as base metal thermocouples (type J, K, T, E, N); noble metal thermocouples (type R, S, B); and special thermocouples such as squeezed thermocouple, tri-level thermocouple, coated thermocouple, and thermocouples with thermowells. These thermocouples are in temperature range -200°C to 1700°C with simplex/duplex/multipoint configuration and protection sheath of SS, HRS, inconel, ceramic, hastalloy, monel, tungsten carbide, silicon carbide, tantalum, titanium, etc., depending upon the application. Tempsens RTDs are available in temperature range 0°C to 600°C having accuracy upto Class A, B, 1/2, 1/5, 1/10 DIN and in 2-, 3-, 4-wire connection with outer protection sheath of SS304, SS316, SS310 and inner protection sheath of SS 316. Special RTDs such as slide shoe RTD, RTD with thermowells, vibration proof RTD for DG sets, bearings and winding temperature RTDs are also available. Special tantalum (Ta) drilled bar stock/sleeve (pocket) thermowell superior in chemical processing: tantalum is susceptible to corrosion only by about 40 of more than 2000 reagents where its stability has been evaluated. Its excellent corrosion resistance is due to the presence of a passive tantalum pentoxide (Ta2O5) surface film, which imparts superior corrosion resistance. Tanta-lum is corroded only by reagents that attack the oxide film including are strong alkalis, fuming sulfuric acid containing free SO3 or SO2, fluorine, hydrofluoric acid and solutions containing greater than about 10 ppm (parts per million) fluoride ions. Sodium and potassium hydroxide solutions in concentrations greater than about 10% also attack tantalum and cause embrittlement. Tantalum is used in a wide variety of components including heat exchangers, shell and tube heaters, bayonet heaters, condensers, thermocouple pockets, bursting discs, vessel liners and glass-vessel repair parts. Larger parts are made by cladding a thin layer of tantalum onto a less expensive material, such as steel, stainless steel and copper.
