A versatile microprocessor based controller unit with three set points and three separate relays has been developed by Subtronics. The programming, calibrate and operation of the instrument by four simple keys and two independent displays for set point and process variable set point display is kept 0.3 to differentiate from process variable display. Status of control/alarm/display relays and presently displayed set points are displayed by 3 mm red LEDs. The operation of the instrument is menu driven with user understandable prompts. The provision for external data lock out keys is kept for protecting programmed data. Three set points with individual hysteresis are provided with separate relays. The set points can be programmed as control or alarm type, relay on below or above set point and as deviation from main set point. This entire configuration can be done on line without opening the unit. Controller unit can be operated on 240 V AC or 110 V AC with 4-20 mA output facility calibrations zero and Span adjusted by digital calibration through front panel keys. There are no trimpots. The self-calibrating equipment connected to the CMRI and DGFAS and LI flame proof and weatherproof gas detectors approved by the Ministry of Labour (Govt of India) are essentially to be used in the plants for long life span. The unit can be calibrated in installed condition itself by front panel keys at any given point, i.e., user need not feed a fixed signal. Four keyboards are Set, Enter, Increase and Decrease. There are four modes of operation: 1. Run mode; 2. Verify mode; 3. Program mode; and 4. Configuration mode. Front of the controller unit is sealed membrane type to withstand dusty environment.
