Carbon Percentage Program Controller

B-10D is a microprocessor based carbon percentage and temperature program controller suitable for carborising furnace application. The equipment has three analogue input channels, viz, K-type thermocouple to measure furnace temperature,oxygen sensor for millivolt (to derive carbon %) and RTD to sense quenching temperature. The control outputs provided by the instrument include furnace temperature control, carbon % control and quenching temperature control. Each of these outputs can be PID type or On/Off type selectable through software. In case of quenching channel, both hot and cold outputs are available. Apart from this two digital inputs are provided: one is for restarting the program with door closing signal and the other one being remote release button for the operator to release the program from HOLD condition. Also provided are the event relays for door opening, agitator motor and spare function. These relays are programmable along with the main cycle. Eight programs each having 20 steps can be stored in non-volatile memory. Each step has set values for carbon %, temperature and time along with event relay setting. The number of laps of the whole program is also settable. And each program has a particular quenching temperature which is settable. The controller has in-built carbon % verses millivolt table at various temperatures. The software provides direct readout as well as setting in carbon %. Membrane keyboard, 16 character LCD display and LED mimic facilitate easy data entry and detailed monitoring. Special functions include online alteration of the program, skipping any steps, alarm function for both temperature and carbon %, HOLD facility including auto hold and power failure restart option.
