Paroscientific Inc,USA, manufactures a variety of pressure transducers and precision pressure measuring devices based on quartz crystal resonators, whose frequency of oscillation varies with pressure induced stress. All barometers and barometric standards have pressure range of 800-1100 mbar. Typical accuracy of 0.01% of reading is achieved both in field as well as in laboratory conditions. Resolution is 0.01% PPM. Instruments require no warm-up time and have high reliability and stability. Micro-processor based electronics provides fully temperature compensated, linearised digital outputs through RS:232 interface. The serial bus allows complete remote configuration and control of all operating parameters including resolution, sample rate, choice of engineering units, integration time and sampling commands. The units can be powered from either mains or from 6-16 V DC battery supply. Internal rechargeable battery option allows over 200 hours of continuous operation. Standards are traceable to NIST. The instruments are offered with a 5-year limited warranty which includes one free inspection, calibration check, zero adjustment and new certification. Typical application areas include aerospace, meteorology, oceanography, laboratory and field instrumentation.
