Eddy Current Dynamometer

Powermag manufacturers eddy current dynamometer for accurate analysis of power, torque, speed, fuel and lubrication consumption and quick pass/fail testing of all types of IC engines, electric motors, hydraulic motors, pumps, gearboxes, couplings, belts and other rotating machineries. This is a totally new concept in dynamic load system for accurate testing applications. The eddy current dynamometer absorbs power, torque and speed characteristics with a unique hysteresis braking system which provides frictionless torque loading (0 to 300 % constant/variable torque load) independent to the shaft speed of the equipment under test. The torque is transmitted by a magnetic field without friction or wear which eliminates mechanical contact all weak links like commutators, sliprings, brushes and shock loading to the prime mover under test resulting longer life. This is the best choice to install against complicated conventional loading methods like DC generator with resistive load, hydraulic dynamometer systems and/or pony brake arrangements. Design features: continuous (S1) duty cycle; 0.24 kg-m to 56 kg-m (2.35 Nm to 54.9 Nm) torque range; 0 to 300 % linear load control characteristics; maintains set torque; frictionless load to the equipment under test; self cooling; shaft speed up to 3500 RPM; simple installation; high performance with reliability; compact and robust; and long running life with nearly zero maintenance.
