Single Rev Dial Indicator

A line of mechanical dial indicators is designed to prevent accidental misreadings by limiting pointer movement to one revolution of the dial. These low-cost, single rev indicators are recommended for use on comparative-type gauges in higher-volume aPPlications where speed of operation is important. The standard 2.5 revolutions found on most AGD indicators, which were designed to allow machinists to "creep up"on a specification, are not necessary for many modern applications. With today's machine tools, gauging suppliers recommend that an indicator be chosen so that the tolerance range for the parts being measured covers between one-tenth and one-quarter of a single needle revolution. Federal single rev indicators allow the same amount of spindle or contact travel as comparable multi-rev indicators, and provide the same measurement range per revolution, but needle travel is limited to a single rotation of the dial.
