Flow Switch, Paddle Operated

Switzer has introduced Model HM an all plastic version of paddle operated flow switch which offers excellent performance at reasonable cost. Style HM flow switch uses glass filled nylon paddle and wetted parts, which makes it suitable for monitoring flow of aggressive liquids such as acids, alkalies, chemical solutions and sea water. Total isolation of the switching unit from the process is achieved through a powerful magnetic coupling which transfers the paddle movement to an instrument quality snap acting micro switch. No ‘O’ ring or bellows seal is used. The length of the paddle can be easily trimmed by user to suit his pipe diameter. The IP: 66 weatherproof plastic housing allows the HM flow switch to be used in outdoor applications. The 15A, 250 V AC, rated micro switch permits the flow switch to be used directly in pump control circuits. An override facility with lock is provided, with which the switch can be used to prime or manually start a pump even when flow is less than the preset flow. The Lock arrangement prevents inadvertent starting of the pump. For high pressure applications, stainless steel paddle and wetted parts are available.
