Flow Cup Meters

Alfa Associates offers Flow Meters. These are used for determining the efflux time for paints, varnishes, lacquers and other viscous products by a simple empirical flow test. These gives the best compromise between accuracy in use, in the viscosity range between 25 to 150 cSt (centistrokes) when tested at 27°C ± 0.5ºC beyond this range, viscometers operating at high rates of shear are recommended for assessing such material. These cups are manufactured by as per IS 3944-1982, which is based on ISO 2431-1972, i.e., paint & varnishes - determination of flow time by use of flow cups" issued by the International Organisation for Standardisation. The automatic time measurement system using electronic flow sensor is available on request. These cups are manufactured with two types of raw materials: i) En8 with blackodising and ii) brass. The following are the supplementary apparatus: thermometer graduated at 0.1ºC intervals and accuracy 0.2ºC; stand suitable for holding the above flow cup with levelling arrangement; circular type spirit level to level the flow cup; flat glass or straight edge to scrape the oil on top cavity; stop watch 0.2 seconds with accuracy 0.1% at 60 minutes period; and enclosure to maintain the temperature of cup and sample at constant temperature of 27ºC.
