Coating Thickness Measuring Instrument

Phynix GmbH offers Coating Thickness Measuring Instruments. These provide fast, non-destructive, accurate coating measurements on steel and non-ferrous metals. These are not only used in paintwork thickness and also for other coatings such as paint topcoats or body fillers, etc. When measured thickness value clearly exceeds the standard paintwork thickness, these would indicate the use of filler material for repair work or repainting. For this means, no damage or destruction on the surface, no scratches and no grinding needed. This is possible by using two field-proven inspection methods for coating thickness measurement: the magnetic method and the eddy current method. Both offer the same degree of high precision, even with the thinnest coatings, on steel as well as on non-ferrous metals e.g. aluminium. These machines use both these methods, just position the probe and selection is automatically made. The company also offers instruments for measuring wall thickness, roughness and hardness and porosity detectors.
