Cole-Parmer India offers a handheld digital USB Microscope. Imagine plugging a microscope into the USB port of the PC or laptop and viewing images with 10x to 200x or even 500x magnification. The USB microscopes offer this convenience, portability and versatility. One of the most recent models also contains a polariser for reducing glare on reflective items, such as metal surfaces. Essentially, a digital microscope is a standard light microscope, combined with a digital camera and software, allows microscopic images to be displayed on a computer screen or TV where they can be shared with others, and captured and saved to the computer. They can be studied, measured, and manipulated on the hard drive. Digital microscopy adds to the tools of the scientist. One of the greatest advantages of some digital microscopy software is the easy set-up and the ability to very accurately measure on the microscopic scale. Six LEDs illuminate the object – turn the LEDs On or Off and adjust the brightness using the control wheel on the body. For versions with the 10x to 200x magnification range, magnification automatically adjusts based on the distance from the object. Units include a basic stand with adjustable height; optional boom stand can be ordered for greater flexibility; and capture images and videos through use of the included software (requires Windows XP, SP2, or Vista). Measurement function, brightness and contrast controls, digital zoom, and date and time record are included in software.
