Roll Inspection System, Rollmate

Rollmate is a fully automated mill roll inspection system combining Innerspec Technologies’ patented technology with the latest developments in ultrasonics and software. Rollmate is a cost effective alternative for inspecting rolls of any alloy, forged and cast. Rollmate operates while grinding, decreasing inspection cycle time. The system can be operated in automatic mode to halt the grinder when the roll is defect free, or manual mode to start and stop inspections as required. Rollmate is comprised of an environmentally controlled enclosure for the system electronics. The system displays a real time map of the roll with defect positions clearly indicated and a sidebar provides detailed ultrasonic amplitude data. A motor driven actuator extends and retracts the probe for contact with the roll.
