Leakage Detection System

The Gesellschaft fur Technische Lvsungen has announced its leakage detection system Iris-OC III for online quality control in production lines. The system functions as follows: Small amounts of liquid cause changes in temperature at the surface of packages which are detected using a high speed infrared imaging device. The thermal information is then analyzed by means of computer based image analysis algorithms. The device works without direct contact and requires no maintenance. The hard- and software can be adapted to customer requirements. Leaks of less than 0.001 millilitre can be detected. The inspection capacity is five pieces per second.
