Crankshaft Inspection System

Decimal Metrology in collaboration with Octagon Precision (India) Pvt Ltd has developed the first fully indigenous state-of-the-art CNC measurement system for crankshafts of automobile engines, or Crankshaft Inspection System. The need for better and more efficient engines has resulted in tighter tolerances on engine parts, especially the crankshaft and camshaft. The precision required in manufacturing of these parts is expected to go up as emission norms become more stringent. Therefore, inspection of every crankshaft manufactured is becoming critical. This crankshaft measurement system known as MetroForm is designed using some of the latest sensor technologies and high speed data acquisition systems for very accurate and reliable measurements. MetroForm is capable of evaluating various geometric parameters of a crankshaft like diameter, roundness, run out, cylindricity, stroke, index angle, straightness, parallelism, taper, etc. MetroForm is available in three variants depending on the length and swing diameter of the crankshaft.
