Medimage Technologies Pvt Ltd offers an Oil Filter Analysis System, Metavis OFAS M. This is a particulate measurement system for use in cleaning of automotive components. The presence of particulate contamination in a liquid system is acknowledged to be a major factor governing the life and reliability of that system. The presence of particles residual from the manufacturing and assembly processes will cause a substantial increase in the wear rates to the system during the initial run-up and early life, and may even cause catastrophic failures. This microscopic image analysis based equipment, measures the cleanliness level of the components by particulate counting. The results are reported as per international ISO standard IS 16232. The system consists of a high resolution digital camera, a compatible high resolution machine vision lens with LED ring light mounted on ergonomically designed stand. The filter paper is placed in a sample holder, which is mounted on a manually operated 4-position x-y stage. It operates with the latest higher configuration computer with proprietary oil filter analysis software. The vehicle components are first immersed in the cleaning liquid that is then collected and filtered with a membrane filter. The filter is then dried and placed in a specialised holder. The system scans and maps the filter, all the while counting the particles and classifying them as per ISO 16232. The operator can validate the results manually simply by clicking on the image-map created by the software. Once the analysis is concluded, report is generated.
