Metallurgical Image Analysis System

Qualitech Systems offers a metallurgical image analysis system (MIAS), a Windows-based imaging application that delivers state-of-the-art imaging solutions in metallography. MIAS provides superior tools for visualisation, enhancement, measurement, processing and analysis of image data. This imaging system is a powerful integration of software and hardware that enables metallurgist to automatically capture images from scientific grade digital and video CCD cameras, providing the metallurgist flexibility in analytical capability. Features: grain size analysis based on ASTM E 112; inclusion rating in steels based on ASTM E 45/E1245; percentage, volume, area fraction and distribution of phases as per ASTM E 562; modularity in SGI as per ASTM E 247; porosity in terms of size, distribution and nodule count; measurement of banding as per ASTM B 276; percentage of phase versus distance from the edge in heat treated products; decarb depth, coating thickness; graphite flake length, width as per ASTM A ? 247 ? 67; profile measurements like length, width, angle, area, diameter, radius, etc; silicon particle size; and dendritic arm spacing.
